The 3M 987C fibre disc uses a binder additive that reduces the grinding temperature (grinding aid). The resulting cooler grinding sets new standards, particularly with poorly thermally conductive stainless steels, nickel alloys and titanium. The tarnishing behaviour of the grinding surface is greatly delayed during the work process. The resulting increase in the service life of the grinding wheel and the significantly reduced machining time also increase the cost potential.
