The 3M glass fibre reinforced polyester film 46 combines the good electrical properties of a polyester film with the high stability of a glass fabric tape. The 0.177 millimetre thick insulating tape can withstand a breakdown voltage of 5,500 volts and has an extremely high tensile strength. With a temperature resistance of up to 130 °C, it belongs to insulating material class B. The polyester film is coated with thermosetting rubber adhesive, which develops an extremely strong adhesive force. This makes it particularly suitable for fastening end wires to coils. It also ensures particularly good impregnation with resins and lacquers.
