The 3M PTFE film 61 is characterised by excellent dielectric properties. It can withstand a breakdown voltage of up to 15,000 volts. In addition, with a temperature resistance of up to 180 °C, it belongs to insulating material class H. The adhesive tape is also flame-retardant in accordance with UL 510, and the high-quality silicone adhesive is also extremely resistant to moisture and ageing. As the surface of the PTFE backing is very low-energy, no substances such as resin, adhesive or dirt adhere to it. The 0.178 millimetre thick, extremely elastic insulating tape is suitable for applications wherever a very high dielectric strength is required.

The TYROLIT Premium range is now being extended by 29 types to provide you with a choice of different grit sizes and other dimensions. 3M Lapping Film 463X is a silicon carbide mineral coated on a 3 mil polyester film with pressure sensitive adhesive backing. Available in 3.0 micron, it is our standard product for silicon carbide related polishing applications in the fibreglass and metallurgical industries. Applications include polishing of fibre optic connectors, flat lapping, fine grinding of read/write heads, superfinishing.
