3M 9528 double-sided adhesive tapes with polyethylene foam backing are equipped with a rubber-resin adhesive. These tapes offer a powerful combination of very high initial tack and high shear strength. Further characteristics are determined by the foam carrier. This can - within certain limits - bridge unevenness and tolerances and also has a vibration-damping effect. These adhesive tapes are used for permanent fastening or mounting, e.g. of holders, hooks, emblems, signs, mouldings, panelling and components, in many industrial applications. They are also used in the advertising and decoration sector for attaching displays and decorative parts. 3M 9528 are particularly suitable for low-energy surfaces such as PP and PE.

The best bonding results are achieved if you pre-clean the parts to be bonded, then roughen them (e.g. with Scotch-Brite 7447) and clean them again. The modified and highly adhesive acrylic adhesive allows the product to be used on a variety of different surfaces. The flexible backing of our double-sided PE foam tapes helps to compensate for the unevenness of the bonding surfaces and also has damping properties and can absorb shocks. The main disadvantage of a conventional foam adhesive tape arises when the bonded part is removed.
