Scotch self-amalgamating ethylene-propylene rubber tape 130C is a self-amalgamating insulating tape based on ethylene-propylene rubber with excellent electrical and dielectric properties. At 80 to 100 per cent elongation, the individual winding layers join together to form a homogeneous winding without air pockets. This makes it ideal for winding on primary insulation at connections and terminations on plastic-insulated cables in the medium voltage range up to 69 kilovolts - and in particular for sealing coaxial connectors on aerials and cable entries. The rubber tape is resistant to moisture, diluted acids, weathering and UV radiation. It is also compatible with all cable sheath materials. As it has no liner, it is particularly easy to process. The 0.76 millimetre thick insulating tape has a dielectric strength of up to 35 kilovolts per square millimetre. It is self-extinguishing and belongs to insulating material class Y with a temperature resistance of up to 90 °C.
- Forms homogeneously welded winding layers
- Excellent dielectric properties
- Weather and UV resistant
- No liner, therefore particularly easy to process
- Stable over a wide processing temperature range
