3M Scotchcast Reinsertable Electrical Insulation Resin 2123 is a soft, two-part polybutadiene resin encapsulant designed specifically for the protection of reinsertable splices. It is designed for virtually any electrical application that requires a soft, re-insertable resin with good handling and performance characteristics. This resin is also used as an insulating material for 1000 volt cable splices and is rated for continuous use at 194ºF (90ºC) with an overload rating of 266ºF (130ºC). It can be stocked to meet the majority of re-enterable resin requirements, eliminating the need for multiple encapsulation inventories. Scotch moulding resin 2123 is formulated with excellent wetting properties and low viscosity. The resin flows well even at low temperatures, filling the housing and minimising voids.
