The 3M Adflo blower unit is respiratory protective equipment which, in combination with an approved headpiece, provides the user with a high level of protection and comfort during welding and related activities. The blower unit has a particle filter, a spark arrester, a pre-filter and a 5-stage filter saturation indicator that shows the user the status of the particle filter. Optional gas filters offer additional protection against common gases and vapours that can occur during welding. Furthermore, an optional odour protection filter can be used to protect the user from unpleasant odours. The blower unit has an automatic air flow control which ensures that the air flow to the head section is always constant. Integrated electronics permanently monitor the battery power and the air flow and immediately trigger a visual and audible alarm if the level falls below set limits. There is a choice of two Li-ion batteries, a standard and a high-performance battery. The unit also has an altitude calibration function that automatically adjusts the function of the device to the respective altitude above sea level.
The Adflo blower respiratory protection system draws in the polluted ambient air, passes it through the respective filters and then directs the purified air into the head section via an air hose. For details on the protection levels and possible restrictions on use, please refer to the operating instructions for the head pieces used.

- With the right type of filter, the Adflo blower respiratory protection effectively protects you from particles or gases - in one system. Gas filters are available as separate accessories.
- The Adflo fan-assisted respirator with self-adjusting QRS air hose, air flow indicator, pre-filter, spark guard, particle filter and standard battery
- The lightweight lithium-ion battery is fully charged within 4.5 hours and has an operating time of 7-9 hours. If you want to extend the operating time, there is the option of a high-performance battery.
- The air flow is always at a constant nominal rate of 170 litres per minute, regardless of the battery charge level or particle load of the filter.
- For hot, humid jobs, you can increase the airflow to 200 litres per minute by pressing the ON button a second time.
