3M VHB high-performance adhesive tapes are double-sided adhesive tapes made of closed-cell acrylate adhesive. They offer high adaptability to the surfaces to be bonded. Smooth or structured surfaces can be bonded over the entire surface without tension. Ideally suited for a variety of materials with high and medium surface energy, such as metals, plastics, paints or glass. High plasticiser resistance (e.g. with PVC substrates).

The best bonding results are achieved if you pre-clean the parts to be bonded, then roughen them (e.g. with Scotch-Brite 7447) and clean them again. For demanding processing conditions 3M™ Polyester Adhesive Tape 8901 is a thin, pliable polyester adhesive tape that is ideal for masking tasks in high-temperature applications and adheres well to silicone-coated surfaces. The translucent blue backing film is tear-resistant. Coated with a silicone adhesive, the tape produces sharp coloured edges and is therefore very suitable for masking workpieces during powder coating, for example. It can be removed from most surfaces cleanly and in one go without fraying or tearing. This adhesive tape is also ideal for splicing silicone liners, paper and films that are exposed to high temperatures. Thanks to its good chemical resistance, this adhesive tape proves its worth in chemical processes and other demanding work procedures, such as anodising. The 3M polyester film 1350F-1 is a particularly thin insulating tape that is also highly resistant. While the acrylate adhesive is particularly resistant to solvents and "Flagging" the backing is characterised by very high tear and abrasion resistance. The 0.06 millimetre thick, flame-retardant adhesive tape can withstand a breakdown voltage of 5,500 volts and, with a temperature resistance of up to 130 °C, belongs to insulation class B. The printable polyester film is available in the colours black, white and yellow and is particularly suitable for cover tapes on coils and capacitors.
