3M 5557 Water Contact Indicator is a 0.259 mm thick adhesive tape that indicates contact with water. The indicator tape changes colour from white to red on direct contact with water. An additional polyester film layer enables printing with all standard printing processes.

Properties

Additional film layer, printable with thermal transfer, flexo or screen printing, with excellent ink absorption
The top film layer also protects against contamination and moisture during processing.
The paper backing is highly absorbent and transports water to enable display
Thanks to the acrylic adhesive, the tape has very high adhesion to most surfaces, including low surface energy plastics such as polypropylene and powder coatings.
