3M Lapping Film 463X is a silicon carbide mineral coated on a 3 mil polyester film with pressure sensitive adhesive backing. Available in 3.0 micron, it is our standard product for silicon carbide related polishing applications in the fibreglass and metallurgical industries. Applications include polishing of fibre optic connectors, flat lapping, fine grinding of read/write heads, superfinishing.

Optional 3M Scotchlite Reflective material increases visibility in poor light conditions. The existing notches and holders for accessories are compatible with a wide range of 3M protective visors, earmuffs and other accessories. A chin strap with magnetic or plastic fastener can also be added as an option. Tested for lateral deformation and fulfils the EN 397 standard for industrial safety helmets.
