The 3M Adflo blower unit is respiratory protective equipment which, in combination with an approved headpiece, provides the user with a high level of protection and comfort during welding and related activities. The blower unit has a particle filter, a spark arrester, a pre-filter and a 5-stage filter saturation indicator that shows the user the status of the particle filter. Optional gas filters offer additional protection against common gases and vapours that can occur during welding. Furthermore, an optional odour protection filter can be used to protect the user from unpleasant odours. The blower unit has an automatic air flow control which ensures that the air flow to the head section is always constant. Integrated electronics permanently monitor the battery power and the air flow and immediately trigger a visual and audible alarm if the level falls below set limits. There is a choice of two Li-ion batteries, a standard and a high-performance battery. The unit also has an altitude calibration function that automatically adjusts the function of the device to the respective altitude above sea level. The Adflo blower respiratory protection system draws in the polluted ambient air, passes it through the respective filters and then directs the purified air into the head section via an air hose. At the same time, a UV indicator enables the correct application to be checked. This improves process reliability, facilitates quality control and ensures a contemporary environmental profile.
