Heat-reactive self-adhesive tape tesa FUSE 45012 is a heat-reactive self-adhesive tape consisting of a special adhesive with a transparent cover. The product was developed for bonding metal parts before powder coating. It is fast, clean and flexible during installation and can withstand the typical powder coating process, including chemical pre-treatment and temperatures up to 220 °C. In the oven, it builds up a strength of up to 300 N/cm² while remaining elastic enough to compensate for thermal expansion. tesa FUSE 45012 combines the process advantages of adhesive tape with the semi-structural adhesive strength. It enables metal fabricators to use tape for bonding prior to powder coating and offers advantages over technologies such as welding, liquid adhesives or conventional tapes. tesa FUSE 45012 can be used to bond metal parts, including dissimilar materials such as steel and aluminium. It provides a strong and permanent bond for applications such as stiffeners, frames, cover plates or add-on parts.
