The 3M EC cold-shrink end cap is made of EPDM elastomer and protects cables, pipes and other cylindrical objects against the ingress of dirt and moisture as well as mechanical damage. The rubber tubing is closed on one side, on the other it is pre-stretched onto a support spiral. When the spiral is pulled out, the end cap shrinks down and forms a secure, abrasion-resistant seal against moisture thanks to a constant radial contact pressure. It fulfils the requirements of ANSI C119.1 and is therefore suitable for indoor and outdoor applications as well as for underground or underwater installation. Its good thermal stability and resistance to decay, acids, alkalis, ozone and UV radiation guarantee long-lasting functionality. No additional tools such as shrink torches are required for installation. The cold-shrink end cap does not require an adhesive inner coating for sealing and can therefore be easily removed without leaving any residue by simply cutting it open.

3M Scotchcast casting resin 9 is a brown two-component system consisting of epoxy resin and hardener. It is a cold-curing multi-purpose resin of medium viscosity that remains medium flexible after curing. It is self-extinguishing and with a temperature resistance of up to 130 °C, it belongs to insulating material class B. The filled moulding resin generates only a low exothermic reaction temperature, has good electrical values and can withstand high mechanical and thermal shock loads. It is also characterised by high mechanical strength and good thermal conductivity. In addition to metal, it also adheres well to many plastics. It is therefore suitable for impregnating coils and transformers by moulding and for embedding electronic modules, transformers, etc. It can also be used to encase electronic and electrical components, to fill cavities, for example on winding plates, and to protect printed circuit boards.
