For demanding processing conditions 3M™ Polyester Adhesive Tape 8901 is a thin, pliable polyester adhesive tape that is ideal for masking tasks in high-temperature applications and adheres well to silicone-coated surfaces. The translucent blue backing film is tear-resistant. Coated with a silicone adhesive, the tape produces sharp coloured edges and is therefore very suitable for masking workpieces during powder coating, for example. It can be removed from most surfaces cleanly and in one go without fraying or tearing. This adhesive tape is also ideal for splicing silicone liners, paper and films that are exposed to high temperatures. Thanks to its good chemical resistance, this adhesive tape proves its worth in chemical processes and other demanding work procedures, such as anodising. 3M PX5005 is a medium grey, double-sided acrylic foam tape with very good initial and excellent final tack for low and medium energy surfaces. The ZX adhesive - which is anchored on both sides of the tape - can be used without adhesion promoters or surface pre-treatments on difficult-to-bond plastics such as PP/EPDM and on medium-energy plastics such as ABS and automotive paints. The robust foam core guarantees very good wetting and adaptation to the surface geometry of add-on parts such as trim strips and parking sensors. The PX 5005 adhesive tape is also characterised by very good internal strength and excellent long-term stability in hot and cold conditions.
