3M cold shrink sleeves are used to insulate all plastic or rubber insulated cables. The products are supplied pre-stretched on a removable support spiral, enabling efficient and simple installation. After installation, the cold-shrink tubing provides reliable protection against moisture thanks to its constant radial contact pressure. Its good thermal stability and resistance to acids, alkalis, ozone and UV radiation guarantee long-lasting functionality. The 3M EPDM cold-shrink tubing is stretched at the factory and mounted on a removable plastic support spiral. Simply prepare the connection, attach the tubing and unwind the support spiral.

Clean all surfaces carefully before each application and only use clean, lint-free cloths. The best bonding results are achieved if you pre-clean the parts to be bonded, then roughen them (e.g. with Scotch-Brite 7447) and clean them again. The 3M polyimide film 1205 is characterised above all by its extreme temperature resistance and very good dielectric properties. In conjunction with a solvent-resistant acrylate adhesive, it forms a powerful combination of mechanical, electrical, thermal and chemical properties, which remain stable in a temperature range of -40 °C to +155 °C. This means that the insulating tape belongs to insulating material class F. The 0.076 millimetre thin adhesive tape can withstand a breakdown voltage of 7,500 volts and is flame-retardant in accordance with UL 510, making the polyimide film particularly suitable for applications where it is exposed to high temperature fluctuations, especially for masking contacts when soldering circuit boards.
