Variants
The near-surface markers are particularly suitable for marking underground water pipes at a depth of 0.9 metres (3 feet). The markers help to accurately identify buried water pipes, reducing the risk of a mistakenly excavated installation. The small, cylindrical shape of the near-surface markers allows for easy installation after the asset has been buried. iD markers can be custom-programmed by entering information such as asset owner, pipe size, date of construction and other important details. This information can be called up and changed by 3M locators using the iD function. No external power supply is required.
