The standard among 3M lapping films. Precisely graded aluminium oxide particles applied to a 3 mil polyester film. Ensures a uniform surface finish on various materials. Available in 0.30, 3.0, 5.0, 9.0, 12.0 and 30.0 micron grits.

3M 261X on a 3 mil film backing with aluminium oxide grain is available in grain sizes 0.3 - 3 - 5 - 9 - 12 - 30 microns. The products are available in either ASO or ASI versions. ASO=Abrasives Side Out, i.e. the grain side is wound outwards, ASI=Abrasives Side In, i.e. the grain side is wound inwards. The inner diameter of the core is 76.2 mm and has 4 driving grooves.
