Variants
3M 5490 and 5491 are extruded Teflon film adhesive tapes with highly heat-resistant silicone adhesive, which differ mainly in thickness. They have excellent chemical resistance, a low coefficient of friction and good adhesive-repellent properties. As the Teflon film is extruded, the tapes have an extremely smooth surface and do not curl up when unwound.
- Thicker version of the 3M 5490
- High temperature resistance
- Excellent resistance to chemicals
- Short-term temperature resistance up to +260 °C
- Particularly suitable for the gliding finishing of straight surfaces
- Adhesive tape made of extruded PTFE hardly rolls up during unwinding
- Creates an extremely smooth surface
- Extruded PTFE adheres better to straight surfaces than peeled PTFEx
- Thanks to its high mechanical strength and adhesive-repellent surface, this belt is suitable as a sliding and protective coating in a wide variety of applications
- Adhesive-repellent coating of rolls, rollers, boards, etc. that come into contact with sticky substances or chemicals
