The 3M cold-shrink tubing from the 8420 series made of EPDM rubber is used for the electrical insulation of all plastic or rubber-insulated cables up to one kilovolt as well as for the protection and sealing of non-electrical applications. It also reliably protects connections of cables with different diameters. It fulfils the requirements of ANSI C119.1 and is therefore suitable for indoor and outdoor applications as well as for underground or underwater installation. The cold-shrink tubing also ensures flexible kink protection and can also be used for cable sheath repairs. Its quick and easy installation by pulling out the support spiral enables reliable installation even without special tools such as a shrink torch. After installation, the cold-shrink tubing provides reliable protection against moisture thanks to its constant radial contact pressure. Its good thermal stability and resistance to acids, alkalis, ozone and UV radiation guarantee long-lasting functionality.
