The 3M EMC copper shielding tape 1181 is a copper foil with a conductive acrylic adhesive. Its excellent corrosion resistance and very good punchability significantly extend its areas of application. With an electrical resistance of five milliohms, the copper foil, which is only 0.066 millimetres thick, has good conductivity and can also be used for earthing and discharging electrostatic charges in addition to EMC applications. The adhesive tape is flame-retardant in accordance with UL 510 and its adhesive is resistant to solvents, which ensures long-lasting functionality.

It can be used on various smooth materials, such as metals, plastic, glass, etc. The surface cleaner consists of isopropanol. Please check compatibility with the materials used before use. Clean all surfaces carefully before each application and only use clean, lint-free cloths. The best bonding results are achieved if you pre-clean the parts to be bonded, then roughen them (e.g. with Scotch-Brite 7447) and clean them again. The 3M EMC aluminium shielding tape 1170 is an aluminium foil coated with a conductive acrylic adhesive.
