The 3M EMC copper shielding tape 1183 is a tin-coated copper foil with a conductive acrylic adhesive. The tin ensures particularly good solderability and is compatible with a wide range of base materials, such as galvanised steels, aluminium, lead and tin alloys. Its excellent corrosion resistance and very good stampability significantly extend its range of applications. With an electrical resistance of five milliohms, the copper foil, which is only 0.066 millimetres thick, has good conductivity and can also be used for earthing and discharging electrostatic charges in addition to EMC applications. The adhesive tape is flame-retardant in accordance with UL 510 and its adhesive is resistant to solvents, which ensures long-lasting functionality.
