The 3M HDT-A heat-shrinkable tubing is a thick-walled heat-shrinkable tubing made from modified, radiation-crosslinked polyolefin. It is suitable for use on all plastic and earth cables for both outdoor and underground installations. It is used to insulate and seal all types of connections, especially as an outer conduit for control cable fittings. It has an adhesive coating on the inner wall for better sealing. The extremely age-resistant heat-shrink tubing is UV-resistant and resistant to many chemical influences. Its shrink ratio is four to one and it can be used in a temperature range from -55 °C to +130 °C. It is self-extinguishing and complies with the Lloyds Register of Shipping MIL-I-23053/15 test standard.

The best bonding results are achieved if you pre-clean the parts to be bonded, then roughen them (e.g. with Scotch-Brite 7447) and clean them again. The 3M Scotchlok heat-shrink compression connectors can be used in installation technology wherever you want to connect solid conductors using compression technology. After heat-shrinking, the connectors also provide insulation that protects against moisture. They are therefore particularly suitable for applications in non-air-conditioned rooms or outdoors. The seamless connectors are made of tin-plated copper and are surrounded by an insulating layer of polyolefin with an inner coating of hot-melt adhesive. They can withstand a maximum voltage of 600 volts and their maximum operating temperature is 105 °C. The compression connectors are available in the colours red, blue and yellow with a maximum conductor cross-section of between 1.0 and 6.0 square millimetres.
