Our 3M polyester film tape 853 is a transparent polyester film tape with a solvent-resistant acrylic adhesive. It has been developed to withstand the rigours of processes where contact with solvents is a problem. This includes many applications for which this tape is ideal due to its thin but robust construction. The reverse side has low moisture vapour permeability, making it ideal for prolonged use. When used to protect critical labels, this tape will not obscure important information. The tape withstands a wide temperature range from 60°F/ 50°C to 300°F/150°C. Same as 850 transparent. For splicing (photo films, audio and video magnetic tapes) and as a protective laminate. Excellent solvent resistance as well as thermal and chemical resistance, highly age-resistant adhesive, printable on the adhesive side.

The best bonding results are achieved if you pre-clean the parts to be bonded, then roughen them (e.g. with Scotch-Brite 7447) and clean them again.
