Our 3M polyester adhesive tape 8991 is a thin and flexible, universally applicable adhesive tape. It is ideal for use as a masking tape in applications involving high temperatures, such as powder coating. Coated with silicone adhesive, the tape adheres to many difficult-to-bond surfaces. It is resistant to chemicals and can be used in a wide range of temperatures and conditions. Masking tape for high-temperature applications The 3M polyester adhesive tape 8991 is versatile, thin and flexible. It is ideal for masking in applications with high temperature requirements. The translucent blue carrier film is tear-resistant. Coated with a silicone adhesive, the tape produces sharp coloured edges and is therefore ideal for masking workpieces during powder coating, for example. It can be removed from most surfaces cleanly and in one go without fraying or tearing. Thanks to its good chemical resistance, this adhesive tape proves its worth in chemical processes and other demanding work procedures, such as anodising. The pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive is suitable for a wide temperature range between -50 °C and +204 °C. Recommended areas of application Masking of workpieces during powder coating Bonding of composite materials Covering of metal surfaces in acid or etching baths As surface protection against scratches during handling and transport.
