The 3M Scotchcast 91-AV series cast resin jointing set for flexible cables and wires can be reeled and is used to repair and join flexible cables and wires in the low-voltage range. It is designed for single-core, non-armoured low-voltage plastic cables and ensures their electrical insulation and mechanical protection. The scope of delivery includes 3M Scotchcast casting resin 2131, which is flame-retardant in accordance with MSHA 30 CFR § 7.407. Once cured, it remains permanently flexible and adheres well to the cable sheath, both under continuous high and alternating bending stress. A GMG system (closed mixing and pouring) is used to pour the resin into the mould shells. This virtually eliminates contact with the casting resin during processing. The transparent mixing bag guarantees visual control of the mixing process. The Scotch 23 self-amalgamating rubber tape ensures optimum sealing of the set. After use, the mixing bag can be disposed of with the cured casting resin residue as normal household waste. Disposal as hazardous waste is not necessary.
