The 3M Scotchlok connector is suitable for connecting solid or stranded conductors in installation wiring technology. With a cross-section range of 0.5 to 1.5 square millimetres, it enables a through-connection even on uncut conductors. The black Scotchlok connector can withstand a maximum voltage of 30 volts and a maximum temperature of 105 °C. It can be used in control, measurement and regulation applications as well as in automotive electrics and switchgear construction. Its function is based on the principle of a U-element: the conductors to be connected are fed into the connector without having to be stripped beforehand. By applying light pressure with the Scotchlok pliers, the U-elements remove the wire insulation, increase the contact surface and establish contact with the conductor. The spring-loaded U-element encloses the individual conductors and ensures a mechanically strong, vibration-proof, electrically perfect and permanent connection. The connector has been tested in the high-voltage test field of 3M Deutschland GmbH in accordance with VDE 0606, 0607, 0303, 0470 and IEC23F and has fulfilled all conditions. The Scotchlok connectors are all UL and C.S.A. listed.

The 3M Scotchlok heat-shrink compression connectors can be used in installation technology wherever you want to connect solid conductors using compression technology. After heat-shrinking, the connectors also provide insulation that protects against moisture. They are therefore particularly suitable for applications in non-air-conditioned rooms or outdoors. The seamless connectors are made of tin-plated copper and are surrounded by an insulating layer of polyolefin with an inner coating of hot-melt adhesive.
