The 3M self-adhesive fabric for protection against liquids extends the possibilities of our well-known 3M Dirt Trap products. It has been specially developed for temporary surface protection against liquids, dirt and many other contaminants in industrial applications. This thin, lightweight material with self-adhesive backing to protect surfaces is characterised by a robust polymer layer. This prevents grease, dirt, solvents and other liquids from seeping through and damaging the underlying surfaces. The non-woven surface of the material was specially developed by 3M to trap dirt, dust, particles and paint mist. Unlike paper or plastic film, it prevents small particles from dispersing throughout the facility where they can settle on surfaces and cause damage and rework. This material also resists light impact and abrasion, making it suitable for areas where it is common for metal shavings, nuts, rivets, small iron and other particles to fall. The fabric protects flat surfaces where workers temporarily place objects such as hand tools. The 3M™ Self-Adhesive Liquid Protection Fabric features a self-adhesive backing that makes it easy to apply in a single pass to surfaces such as floors, mats, tabletops, carpets, paint scales, parts racks, hoses, machine rollers, etc. The low tack adhesive holds the material securely, smoothly and wrinkle-free in position on a variety of materials. The material can be repositioned. So if you need to reach an area behind it again after application, you can simply peel it off and then stick it down again. After use and with a typical application/usage time of 1 to 4 weeks, the material can be removed cleanly and without leaving any residue - simply peel it off and replace if necessary. This makes the use of 3M self-adhesive fabric for protection against liquids an excellent alternative to conventional time-consuming covering with paper or plastic and adhesive tape. As the material can be securely fixed in place, it protects surfaces from micro-scratches that can occur when the masking material moves over time. The non-woven surface of the fabric has been proven to improve adhesion when applied to smooth surfaces. The material is also UV resistant, so you can use it to protect outdoor surfaces for up to two weeks. The 3M Self-Adhesive Liquid Protection Fabric is available in different widths so you can choose the size to suit your surface protection requirements. Painters can apply the fabric by hand or use one of our applicators for wider rolls. The material can be applied smoothly thanks to the foam rollers attached to the applicators. If the fabric needs to be replaced, it is easy to remove and replace with a new layer.
