The challenging environmental conditions, from high heat and radiation (UV/IR and visible) to flying sparks and fast-flying particles, require a sophisticated system, which we present to you as the first product of the fifth generation Speedglas. This system has been specially developed for arc welding at 300 to 400 amps with a lot of welding fumes and high concentrations of pollutants in the ambient air. Several welders often work side by side on large system components. Visibility is usually poor and lighting conditions are constantly changing. And yet the welders have to work precisely and deliver consistently high quality. With the 3M Speedglas high-performance welding mask G5-01, you are optimally and comfortably protected. An extensive range of accessories allows you to put together "your G5-01". The human eye is not designed to process rapid changes in light (light-dark-bright) without problems. It can only adapt slowly to different light and dark levels. The staple comfort mode of this automatic welding filter counteracts this fact. The G5-01TW cassette works in stitching mode with an "intermediate tint" 5. When stitching, the tint does not change directly between the set dark level (e.g. 13) and the light level 3, but instead switches to an intermediate level 5 for two seconds. If another dot is set within two seconds during stitching, it jumps back to the dark level. The cassette only switches back from intermediate level 5 to light level 3 if no new spot is welded after 2 seconds.
