3M VHB high-performance adhesive tapes are double-sided adhesive tapes made of closed-cell acrylate adhesive. They offer high adaptability to the surfaces to be bonded. Smooth or structured surfaces can be bonded over the entire surface without tension. Ideally suited for a variety of materials with high and medium surface energy, such as metals, plastics, paints or glass. High plasticiser resistance (e.g. with PVC substrates).

The best bonding results are achieved if you pre-clean the parts to be bonded, then roughen them (e.g. with Scotch-Brite 7447) and clean them again. The 3M Scotchlok tap connectors turn a through connection into a branch connection with just one movement. Simply plugged onto the matching Scotchlok connectors, they are suitable for all applications in installation, control, measurement and regulation technology where a pluggable electrical branch connection is desired or required. This makes installation much easier, particularly in switchgear construction and automotive electrics. With a cross-sectional area of between 0.5 and 3.0 square millimetres, they also enable connections to be made to uncut conductors. The Scotchlok connectors are available in the colours red, blue and yellow. They can withstand a maximum voltage of 600 volts and a maximum temperature of 105 °C. Their function is based on the principle of a U-element: the conductors to be connected are fed into the connector without having to be stripped beforehand. By applying light pressure with the Scotchlok pliers, the U-shaped elements remove the wire insulation, increase the contact surface and establish contact with the conductor.
