The metallic effect is achieved by vapour deposition of aluminium between the film and the transparent adhesive. The aluminium vapour deposition reduces the electrostatic charge and leads to improved processing properties. This adhesive tape is suitable for decoration, splicing, labelling and the production of printed, die-cut and/or embossed labels.

Our 3M polyester film tape 853 is a transparent polyester film tape with a solvent-resistant acrylic adhesive. It has been developed to withstand the rigours of processes where contact with solvents is a problem. This includes many applications for which this tape is ideal due to its thin but robust construction. The reverse side has low moisture vapour permeability, making it ideal for prolonged use. When used to protect critical labels, this tape will not obscure important information. The tape withstands a wide temperature range from 60°F/ 50°C to 300°F/150°C. Same as 850 clear. For splicing (photo films, audio and video magnetic tapes) and as a protective laminate. For demanding processing conditions The 3M polyester adhesive tape 8901 is a thin, pliable polyester adhesive tape that is ideal for masking tasks in high-temperature applications and adheres well to silicone-coated surfaces. The translucent blue backing film is tear-resistant. Coated with a silicone adhesive, the tape produces sharp coloured edges and is therefore very suitable for masking workpieces during powder coating, for example. It can be removed from most surfaces cleanly and in one go without fraying or tearing. This adhesive tape is also ideal for splicing silicone liners, paper and films that are exposed to high temperatures. Thanks to its good chemical resistance, this adhesive tape proves its worth in chemical processes and other demanding work procedures, such as anodising. The pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive is suitable for a wide temperature range between -50 °C and +204 °C.
