The square file is used in particular for the efficient processing of tools in the woodworking and mechanical engineering industries. Files made of silicon carbide are mainly used for carbide or carbide-tipped tools and have a grey-green colour. Orange coloured files are mainly used for all types of steel and stainless steel.
